In the anime, she obviously never chooses any particular boy, but shows that she has a deep connection with all of them.

Appearance:
One, two, thee, and four! She is 157cm tall with reddish-orange hair and golden green eyes.

Personality:

Haruka is a really shy girl who finds it hard to find her own voice sometimes, but when she does, she is at least pretty honest. Sometimes, she is so shy that she stutters often while speaking to those she doesn't know or those who make her flustered. Even though that does hold her back from giving herself some credit some of the time, she can also be very determined. For instance, she helped Ren out in season one when he ripped up a song that he wrote himself by staying out all day and night to look for his papers so that he could pass the class. She also is determined to write the group's songs in season one as they weren't originally supposed to have their graduation exam taken as a group. Haruka challenged the rules of the school simply because she could not choose just one partner for the graduation exam, as all the boys wanted her to write their songs, and of course she did succeed. In the very beginning of the series, she is teased by her classmates since she cannot read sheet music as her grandmother taught her to learn by ear at a young age. The teasing did get to her a little bit and caused her to panic a little since she was worried about not being able to keep up with the courses, but Haruka was determined to learn to read music so that she could keep being in class and succeed with her music career. So, Masato and Otoya help her with this since even when she learns to read music, she freezes up in front of the whole class a few times just from being nervous about playing in front of them. Obviously, she learns to read and write on the sheet music, but if she had just given up, then she would no longer be at the school. She even entered the school with the dream of one day writing songs for her favorite idol, Hayato. Being shy also comes with being pretty oblivious to her surroundings. Several times, she is unable to understand whoever may be flirting with her at the time's advances on her. Of course, she is easy to fluster even if most of the guys show up before any of the others can actually pursue anything. She is often seen staring out into space when something is on her mind as well, and often becomes flustered when called out about it.

While she may seem only sweet and naive, she also actually gets more of a backbone for herself in season two. The new group that challenges STARISH in the competition, HEAVENS, seem to try to push Haruka into being their composer as if she didn't have any choice. While she does let them push her around a little bit, she does stand up for herself at the end and decline their offer saying that she will only write music for STARISH and will never stop writing music for them. This surprises both groups that she spoke up for herself, but ultimately it showed a good development for her because she is the type to get pushed around easily. Her determination and willingness to succeed definitely draws people to her along with her ability to write such good music, as she does also provide the music for HEAVENS for the competition.

Even though she wants to succeed and have her music make people happy, she can and does lose sight of her goals a few times of the series, mostly when she is under stress. Haruka really performs poorly while under stress and doesn't take care of herself to the point where she won't eat for a few days if she's in the middle of trying to write a new song. She does this several times throughout the series since she seemed to worry about other people before she does herself. In the second season, Haruka was so stressed from the fact that she thought STARISH would be disbanded if they lost the competition and it was all on her to write a good song so that they would win. Tokiya helps her by taking her out for the day and then later quoting something that she had said to him to help bring him back from a rough patch that he went through during the first season when he had lost sight of what he really loved about music. All of the boys were worried about her, and of course Haruka apologized for losing sight of things and then she got back on track to where she was as determined as ever. Though, in season one, she definitely gave up pretty quick when Shining told her that she could no longer write music for the group, and since they were all her friends, it was hard for her to watch them all go forward without her even if they didn't want her to. Haruka even ran back home to her grandmother because she was upset about not being able to be with her friends, and her grandmother just encouraged her to keep going since she had met wonderful people on her journey. Of course, she ends up going back to the academy after the boys all come to get her, but this was all to say that even she has her own set of problems sometimes and that it's not just all about the boys.

Abilities: She's very musically talented to the point where she learned to write songs and play the piano by ear as her grandmother did the same. She learned to read sheet music and compose proper songs in season 1, and she writes all the songs for the professional idol group STARISH.
